Butler's Bar

This Butler's Bar is my first large piece of furniture. It all started because when I moved, the new place I moved into didn't have a place for the stemware rack I had built. Since I didn't have enough cupboard room, I needed to find a new home for my stemware. I figured if I was going to have to build something, it was going to be done right. After some thought, I decided I would just build a bar that would hold everything. I wanted it to hold all my wine, beer, liquor, and the accessories that follow. That's how this design started. The top part holds 39 bottles of wine, the stemware rack holds 28 glasses, and the cupboard measures 8¹/₂'' wide, 10'' deep, and 13'' high, which with the adjustable glass shelf, can hold many combinations of glasses or mugs. The bottom cupboard holds all the excess - liquor, oversized bottles of wine, cases of beer, etc. All of the other little trinkets such as openers, charms, etc., are held in the drawers. It is built out of red oak stained special walnut with a marble tile table top. The drawers have full extension, self-closing drawer slides on them. The top cupboard is lit, as well as accent lighting on the top of the bar.
