Project Process

I take great pride in the work I do, and build every piece of furniture or cabinetry as though it were going in my own home.  Every inch of every piece has my love and passion for carpentry in it.  Your satisfaction is my primary goal, and I will do everything in my power to make sure you get what you want.  A lot of thought goes into every piece from the flow of the grain of the wood within the piece to overall functionality and durability.

Unlike a lot of the furniture that is on the market, my furniture is all handcrafted, which makes each piece unique.  My furniture is not veneered MDF (medium density fiberboard), however it is built out of premium, cabinetry grade plywood and solid material.  This ensures a long and prosperous life of each piece.

The Purchase Process:

1.  You tell me what you are looking to get out of your project, along with a budget.
2.   I design and sketch it.
3.   You either approve or make modifications to the design.
4.   A final design and proposal is issued.
5.   A start date is set.
6.   Building process (below).
7.   I deliver and install (if necessary).
8.   You enjoy for years to come.

The Building Process (furniture and cabinetry):

Once the proposal is approved, signed, and deposit is received, I begin the building process, which includes the following:

1.   Cut list developed.
2.   Mill and cut all pieces to size.
3.   Make all necessary cuts for joints.
4.   Dry assembly.
5.   Adjustments made accordingly.
6.   Dry assembly.
7.   Final assembly and gluing.
8.   Sanding.
9.   More sanding.
10. Clean piece (ensure piece is free of sawdust).
11. Stain.
12. Allow 8 hours for stain to dry.
13. Apply second coat of stain if necessary.
14. Allow 8 hours for stain to dry.
15. Apply protective finish (usually polyurethane).
16. Allow 24 hours for protective coat to dry.
17. Deliver.
18. Install (if necessary).

The preceeding steps are just a generalization of the process; for the most part, most projects require a minimum of these basic processes.  However, each project is different, so some steps will be added and omitted accordingly.
